Batter Up!

This baseball season is coming to an end and I have to say that it makes me sad.  Sure, its been like a juggling act trying to get to two games at different parts of town at the same time whilst remembering to pick up my daughter from her ballet class at some point.  It may seem stressful, but I see it as more of a routine and I welcome it as part of our lives at this time of the year. Silver Lake Offers Yoga Class for Moms

The great folks over at Silver Lake Country Club are launching a new yoga practice called Yoga On The Green.  They will bring in certified Yoga Instructors from local yoga studios to lead the classes.   Sessions will be held on their dedicated yoga green that is nestled in a cove surrounded by trees and gardens on the golf course. It’s All a Matter of Perspective

This morning I continued my search for the ever elusive bicycle pump in my garage of horrors.  My little guy ventured out onto the driveway to ride his scooter and within seconds he was running at me with the fear of God in his face and not far behind him was the neighbor’s dog going twice as fast.  Just then the neighbor yelled at the dog to get back to him and the dog obeyed.  Continue reading →

Hey there, Boo Boo!

The youngest of my bunch is just about finished with Kindergarten.  Every day he comes home with things for me to ooh and aah over that he has completed at school.  On Wednesdays the class has “technology” which basically consists of becoming familiar with the computer and using the keyboard.  On these days, he comes home with a printout that he has typed.  The zoo field trip is coming up so he wrote about zoo animals.  Lovely. We are lucky to have a plethora of dining choices here in Orland Park and my family dines out about once or twice a month.  I have found that a few of our local restaurants offer a “Kids Eat Free” day.   I love me a deal, so I was stoked.

Osama, Obama Word To Your Mama Drama

It started with a late night phone call from my sister who sounded disturbed.  She said that Osama Bin Ladin had been killed.  I was still half asleep and replied “What? Obama?” “No” She said “Osama, not Obama.  Obama was on TV and said that Osama has been killed by NATO forces.”  Now my daughter, who was asleep next to me asks “What happened? What happened with President Obama?”  “No, baby” I replied.  “Not Obama, Osama…Osama, not Obama.” Continue reading →
