As a mother, I cannot fathom what it must be like to lose a child.  I hope and pray that no one ever experiences such a loss and am saddened when I hear of those who have.

Orland Park resident Julianne Doody was only 13 years old when her life was cut short less than 14 weeks after being diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia, an aggressive form of cancer.

The ninth annual Friday for Julie fundraiser is being held in her honor on Friday, July 29th at the Orland Park Civic Center to raise money and awareness to help in finding a cure.  If you would like to read more about Julie and the fundraiser or want to be a part of this cause, see this article in the Orland Park Patch.
