SNOWSTORM 2011!

Hide yo kids and hide yo wife, run around in circles and scream…..The big news in the area is of the monster snow storm that is sweeping through the area this evening.  When I say this is the big news in the area, I mean it is the ONLY thing people are talking about.  Yes, I understand, the amount of snow we are supposed to get will be some sort of record and we are bound to be talking about it for years to come. Sigh.

I bought into the mass panic myself today.  I ran, like a crazy person, around town picking up things we may need while we are trapped in our homes tomorrow.  I have enough food to feed a small army stocked in my cabinets and fridge.  I have enough rock salt to melt ice for the whole neighborhood.

We just received the recorded phone message from the school district stating that schools will be closed tomorrow in anticipation of the storm.  The kids will be crushed.

The kids have also bought into the mass panic and are so concerned.  My eldest asked me “Mom, it is going to snow so much, what are we going to do?!?!?!” .  My response was “Well, remember last Sunday when we stayed in all day and didn’t do much of anything, yeah, kinda like that.”

If you are still looking for things to do indoors tomorrow, the Orland135 website has some ideas for you.

So go ahead Mother Nature, bring it on!  I have enough boxed brownie mix and hot cocoa to last a lifetime.

Guilty of stockpiling not just food, but toilet paper as well. Why? Do we poop more when it snow? I don’t know, but it seemed like a good idea at the time.
